There were a ton of things I loved about this book! Disability rep, a believable romantic relationship, and the subtle nods to Pride and Prejudice were among my favorite parts of this novel, not to mention the chickens! Before reading this book I’d never guessed I’d be so emotionally invested in poultry.

You know how Ali Hazelwood writes the complex world of theoretical physics, competitive chess, or neuroengineering in a way that you don’t have to KNOW it to still LOVE her books? That’s what Morris does with the “chicken world” in this book! I read this in less than a day - it’s goooood!

A little conflict with a sexy leading man, a little intrigue with a hot villain, a twinkly old man, and a brash, fun best friend made for a winning cast of characters.

I absolutely adored this story. I loved the chickens. I loved the banter. I loved the storyline and the little mystery aspect. The romance was on point. I felt like this was a very well rounded and well written book. I will definitely be recommending it to all my chicken friends (and non chicken friends who love romance and a good competition)!

I was giggling at the witty dialogue and swooning over the MCs George and Madeline. Even cackling at Patricia, Madeline’s best friend. Everyone needs a Patricia in their life. George and Madeline were textbook enemies to lovers and I was rooting for them the entire time. Each and every character in this book played a perfect part to weave this story together.

Omg, why am I crying about chickens? I’ve never cried about chickens in my life. What is this witchcraft?? (she said endearingly). Seriously though, Love & Chickens is an absolute delight, albeit an emotional one. I was welcomed into a world I didn’t even know existed, and Kasey Morris has so carefully put her heart and passion throughout every page. I truly loved this book, and the characters in it. Especially Sir Lancelot, the ruthless goose, who ferociously bit a judge. You are my spirit animal.

If you are looking for a light read, enemies to lovers, drama sub-plot, and funny romcom, then definitely give this book a read. I simply adored it!

A fun read and a perfect escape to a world I never knew much about. The book was not only a fun rom-com book but also an easy way to learn about the chicken world! Who knew chicken shows were the perfect place to fall in love?

This was done so well! Even in the first chapter, you could just tell that the author is a fellow country/farm girl and just gets it. It was so refreshing to read a fictional story about one of your passions, and it felt real… I loved the witty banter between Madeline and Patricia. I laughed out loud multiple times during their conversations. Their friendship was top tier for me… I was enthralled from the beginning and ate this up, every last morsel.

It’s giving the STEMinist novels [vibe] but with CHICKENS!!! I literally don’t know anything about poultry… that did not hinder my experience with this book, and in fact TAUGHT me a lot. Kasey gave us DISABILITY representation. She gave us FOUND FAMILY. She served up RIVALS TO LOVERS. The vibes were immaculate here.

Love & Chickens was a fast-paced, fun read with a satisfying ending. The writing is lively and interesting and the storyline pays homage to Pride and Prejudice and yet is utterly unique in its own right. I know NOTHING about the chicken world, yet the setting details were enough to keep me interested and engaged without overburdening the storyline. I felt I got a peek behind the curtain of a life I’d never even imagined. Memorable characters and witty dialogue abound.

I really really liked this book! I don’t care about chickens and poultry at all but found myself strangely invested in this story! I came for the disability rep and stayed for the chicken drama. Who knew chickens and geese had such personality?

Who knew chickens could spark something romantic? Who could give a backstory that has you crying about a chicken? Kasey Morris. I never would have expected to find myself encompassed in a book about chickens and romance.

This book has everything I didn’t know I needed! Who knew chicken shows were so big and the judges were so attractive?! I loved the main characters, I loved the storyline, and I loved Elsie the chicken and Sir Lancelot the goose!

Kasey Morris is a wonderful writer and Love & Chickens was a quick read, but a delightful one. Certainly a case of opposites attract and who doesn't love a chicken army? Great writing, engaging, immersive, comical and just the right amount of drama for this incredibly enjoyable cosy read.

This book was so cute! I love a Pride and Prejudice retelling, and this was very well done. How can anything be better than Mr. Darcy in grey sweatpants--with tattoos?? *chef's kiss* I loved the chicken aspect, especially since I have no knowledge of chickens or birds in general. I didn't feel like the information was annoying, but it was given in a very useful way that actually made me curious about chickens. I would definitely read more by this author.

This was a quick and easy read that I really enjoyed! It is so unique, I mean, how many other rom coms are out there that have to do with chickens? It will definitely be one I won’t forget… This was such a fun and interesting book! I learned so much about chickens and the show bird world while also being swept up in the budding romance between Madeline and George… If you’re looking for a unique romcom then pick this one up!

LOVED! Coming from someone who knows nothing about chickens, not only did I love the plot, but I also learned a lot! Disability rep, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, some heartache and twists, and most of all LOVE AND CHICKENS! What a great read!

This book might just be my number one rom-com of 2024! I have never had such a fun time reading a romance book before! It’s so silly and fun but also covers serious topics in a way that makes you feel for the characters… This truly might be one of the most well written debut rom-coms I’ve ever read!

This is definitely unlike any book I've ever read. A romance novel heavily threaded with chickens. I didn't know what to expect when I started reading this, and I didn't have super high hopes, but I ended up absolutely loving this book. If you know nothing at all about chickens, like me, trust that you'll still enjoy this read.
